Scaravelli Inspired Yoga
My style of yoga is gentle, but deep, being inspired by Vanda Scarvelli. Vanda believed that “practicing yoga is like being on a body holiday.” Not work, nor painful, but with an ease and flow where you can be supported by the earth, by gravity".
Through gentle yoga movements, breathwork and relaxation techniques, I can help you to find inner calmness. Combined with themes of wellness coaching, together we can explore movement, find balance and stillness. Together we can unwind, let go, release and seek support from the ground.
Working with your own body, not in competition with others, or the self. Exploring how your body feels, how your body moves. Unwinding and releasing tense areas, breathing into your whole being. Bringing vitality, energy, calmness, awareness and peace into the present moment.
Beginning from the ground, the feet, the back, or the seat. Allowing the ground to support the body. Honouring the earth's gravitational pull and working with this to release the muscles, tissues and facia. Working the body in movements that form spirals, circles and waves. Softening with the exhaled breath, dropping into our centre of gravity, so that our lungs can breath freely. Working with levity, and just being able to let go.
Come and join me in this yogic exploration of you. The outer you, but more importantly, the inner you. As we work in gentle ways through the Pancha Kosha, the layers of our outer and inner selves. Through this gentle, but deep form of practice, Scaravelli Inspired Yoga, you can discover a new way of being, on the mat and off.
Everyone is welcome. Classes are particulary aligned for new comers, returners, and for people who are in rehabilitation, and also for the experienced yogi who would like to experience an unfolding and releasing style of yoga. Classes are restorative in nature, but numerous adaptions are offered in line with ongoing assessments of abilities and accessibility throughout the class sessions to ensure that a diverse range options are offered so that everybody feels included at a level that meets thier individual needs.
At the end of class, you will feel lighter, more calm and relaxed. Over time with regular attendance, you will develop your strength and flexibility and combine the philosophy of yoga into your day to day experience.
I am your guide, but you know yourself better, and you are your inner teacher.
See you on the mat.
